The following is your checklist for creating your scholarship portfolio. Setting up your binder (portfolio) is critical to meeting your scholarship deadlines.
A huge part of being successful is following the system which I have developed for you. Once you have purchased all of your supplies and have your binder organized, you are ready to focus on searching for awards and scholarships.
Treat your search for scholarships like a job. Designate certain days and times when you are going to be doing research; completing applications; and adapting your personal statement for a specific scholarship.
Keeping up your calendar of deadlines and making a copy of every scholarship prior to mailing or electronically submitting really pays off. Since your goal should be finding and applying for at least two scholarships every week, time management and organization are extremely important.
